Welcome to Counselling
with Jackie
Hiya, I’m Jackie.
I have been a counsellor since 2008, specialising in working with children, couples, neurodivergent related traumas and supporting LGBTQIA+ communities. My 1:1 counselling services usually takes place in my therapy room in Greatstone, but you’re welcome to talk to me on the phone, or over live video if you prefer.
I support people experiencing:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Childhood trauma
- Coming out experiences
- Sexual abuse
- Domestic violence
- Foster carers and student counsellors
My services centre around trust. Trust is the building block for processing what you’re experiencing in life, and how to grow as a person. I build strong, professional relationships with my clients so they can open up at a pace that works for them.
Once upon a time, I needed a counsellor
When I was a child, a number of experiences impacted my physical and mental heath. Eventually, I was connected with a professional counsellor who helped me untangle my emotions, experiences and grief.
This person facilitated what I like to call “ah-ha” moments.
I went very quickly from someone who had been filled with anger and turmoil to a much happier version of myself. In my eyes it was a no-brainer; I wanted to help other people feel that same relief, peace and emotional regulation in their own day to day lives.
For 15 years I worked as a foster carer. I fostered over 100 children in the social care system and really loved it. I have worked closely with sibling groups, people with Autism and/or ADHD, children who have grown up with parents with mental health issues, addiction and trauma. After leaving social care I knew I wanted to continue the same line of work. This was the point I became a counsellor.

I am fully qualified and insured. All information is 100% confidential.

My Special Interests
LGBTQIA+ Counselling
Have you recently come out? For many people, coming out can be a liberating experience. For others, the change can bring negative implications. Maybe you don’t have any supportive family members or you just want a neutral person to voice your fears to. Whatever you are experiencing, I am here for you in a professional capacity. I have spent many years counselling people from the LGBT+ community. Everyone is welcome and respected in my therapy room.
Autism & Neurodivergent Counselling
Are you considering an Autism or ADHD assessment? Perhaps you have recently been diagnosed, or are trying to support a family member with a neurodivergent diagnosis.
An Autism or ADHD diagnosis can have a huge impact on our mental wellbeing. You may wish to talk through the impact diagnosis or symptoms have on you with a neutral, but compassionate third party. I can help you discuss your grief, feelings of “what if?”, and life experiences in the comfort of a cosy, quiet space. Everyone is completely different, you may want to see the positives in a diagnosis, or express the trauma it has brought.
Counselling is 100% confidential. If you have any sensory preferences for your visit, (such as smells, sound or light) please mention it at the time of booking.
Couples Therapy
Counselling and couples therapy are growing increasingly popular as more and more people choose to break the trauma cycles in their family history. It’s normal for relationships to experience highs and lows. Sometimes the lows feel extremely hard to get through without external help. If you feel on the brink of breaking up but desperately want to stay together I can help. I am here to help you find a peaceful way to talk through what’s troubling you. Let’s access the techniques that will help your relationship repair your bond and grow stronger for the future.

I am so glad I sought counselling years ago. It’s been a long journey but one worth taking. I am now looking to the future with confidence and with my new insight. Thank you.
Today I finished my counselling journey with Jackie after going for 11 months. I never thought I would see the day where I would be strong enough to manage my mental health on my own!! Jackie has been amazing throughout each and every session and I can’t thank her enough than I have already. I can finally see the best version of myself which I’ll be forever grateful for. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Carry on being the amazing counsellor you are who changes everyone’s lives for the better. For anyone who is reading this and is thinking about starting counselling then Jackie is your lady. It’s not a quick fix, you need to be patient but you will definitely see results.
